Welcome to the 82nd International Scientific Conference of the University of Latvia which has become an integral part of scientific life, bringing along nearly a century of tradition!

The International Scientific Conference on Medicine is the largest section of the 82nd Scientific Conference of the University of Latvia and will be held in Riga at the UL Academic Centre on 5 April 2024. The annual event will cover a variety of disciplines in clinical and research medicine, pharmacy, nursing and public health.

Abstracts are welcome from both seasoned and young researchers as well as students. In the spirit to foster international collaboration, participation is free of charge.

The Book of Abstracts gets published

Listeners (passive participants) who would like to receive a certificate of attendance must register for the event by 2 April 2024.

Listeners are eligible to receive 8 further education points according to the Republic of Latvia Cabinet Regulation No. 943 ”Procedures for Certification of Medical Practitioners”.

Authors and co-authors of accepted abstracts are already registered automatically and do NOT have to register on their own..

The House of Science was opened in 2019, and all the UL scientific, medical and life science field research and study courses are based there. Providing an effective use of infrastructure and human resources and promoting a synergy of study and research fields – the work gets united, more creative and efficient.

The Book of Abstracts is published by the scientific journal "Medicina" (Medicina, Vol. 60, Suppl. 1. Kaunas, 2024). It is available here.

Oral presentations

The maximally allowed time for oral presentation is 7 minutes and another 3 minutes for discussion.

Poster presentations

Authors are responsible for printing their poster presentations and placing them on the poster stalls at the conference's site - atrium on 2nd floor.
The poster should have the following dimensions: A0 portrait layout, 118.9 cm (height) and 84.1 cm (width). Poster template
Authors will have to present their posters orally during poster sessions (please see a detailed program below). The maximum allowed time for presentation is 4 minutes and another 2 minutes for discussion.
