The Centre of Social Pediatrics serves as a clinical base not only for students of the Faculty of Medicine, but also for emerging psychologists of the Faculty of Education, Psychology and Art, social pedagogues, special pedagogues, as well as for practitioners of the industry who perform their professional development in the form of continuing education in the Centre.
Students at the Centre are educated for multi-sensory therapy used in the work with children with special needs, as well as with autistic and hyperactive children.

In order to promote professional development of doctors and other persons involved in health care, as well as to provide existing and emerging medical staff with the opportunity to develop in research work, a Centre of Continuing Education has been established at the UL Faculty of Medicine.

The Centre for Health Management and Informatics of the UL Faculty of Medicine was established in 2012 as a platform for projects on health organisation and management, economics, biomedicine and informatics, with an aim to promote the development of health management and informatics in Latvia, as well as to offer expertise in this field to industry companies and national government institutions.
